My favourite pieces of jewelry are my NAILS! I absolutely love nail polish because it's showy, it's long-lasting, there are so many shades to choose from, and it's also the reason I stopped biting my nails! Now I keep them short for practicality, but I take care of them everyday (oil + moisturizer) and paint them every week. Like with makeup, I love being tacky and experimenting with colors, and I made this page to write down which manicures I give myself each week, what inspired them, and how they made me feel.
My favourite nail polish community is r/wegotpolishathome, where you can find fun little bingos and challenges to use the polishes you already have at home in new ways <3
p.s.: my cuticles are loved & wanted and I leave them THE FUCK ALONE.
this week's nails: metallic blue-green (Rimmel's beautiful "Siren" shade) on the thumb, middle finger, and pinky finger; metallic purple on the index and ring finger. On the other hand, same colors but swapped
inspired by: winter introspection
notes:
•I'd wanted to try this combo for a while, and... let me be honest, my expectations were better. I thought I would enjoy it more... It's giving Winx Club a little too much. Or H2O, that one show about mermaids.
•The Siren shade is STUNNING, HOLY SHIT.
•I remembered the purple nail polish as probably my favourite polish, but I hadn't worn it since summer. I must've been an even shittier sloppier painter back then because holy shit is it hard to apply with this dumbass Kiko's shorty minuscule brush. It looks beautiful, but it's a pain in the ass to actually use.

this week's nails: dark reddish brown on the thumb; orange on the index finger; yellow on the middle finger; terracotta brown on the ring finger; black on the pinky finger; all with a matte top coat
inspired by: halloween!!
notes:
•Yeah so. Like I said in my journal I wanted to give myself a mani inspired by the song Turn The Bells by White Lies, specifically these lyrics, which have always screamed HALLOWEEN to me:
And the colors I chose were red, black, yellow, white, and dark reddish brown. I was so hyped, I thought it was a genius idea, and I was even going to try a matte top coat for the first time. Then I put them on and... it was the goddamn flag of Germany. I looked like I was gonna start selling bratwurst on the side of the road. I hated it, and I was wondering if I should take it off, then I accidentally smudged the polish on my pinky finger and I went, you know what? Fuck you. I took it all off and the day after I did this. I'm not 100% happy with it cause it looks too much like last week's mani (a skittle with fall colors), but it still looks nice and it's intriguing to have a matte top coat on, I wonder how long it'll last.
•Matte black looks ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. I wouldn't normally do black on its own, I'd find it too boring, but I'm considering painting every nail in matte black soon.

this week's nails: dark reddish brown on the thumb; terracotta brown on the index finger; gold on the middle finger; olive green on the ring finger; taupe-brown on the pinky finger
inspired by: fall, and also most of these polishes are new and I wanted to try them all at once lol
notes: heeheh. HeheeheEEHEHEHHEHEHEHEH this is my first skittle (5 different colors on each fingernail) and I LOVE IT SO GODDAMN MUCH I think all the colors go incredibly well together, and I also think I did a good job at painting them on (usually I'm not the most precise painter but this time I used the vaseline hack where you spread vaseline around the cuticles, and I think the outcome was much better than usual???)

this week's nails: black on the pinky and thumb; red-purple on the ring and index finger; pink on the middle finger
inspired by: my period + spooky season
notes: this is my first three-color mani ever and I love it, I can't stop staring at my nails!!

this week's nails: metallic silver on the thumb, ring and pinky finger; lilac on the index and middle finger
inspired by: I couldn't make up my mind regarding which colors I wanted to wear so I searched up "nail polish combinations" and was really intrigued by this one
notes: I hadn't even thought of this combination but it looks so pretty and unique (I swear the little colors down here don't do it justice), definitely writing this one down
